chapter 2 of UMI..

Chapter 2: his undeniably terrible attitude..

“Ohayou!!!” a loud greeting from someone surprised other students from class 2-A. They were rather surprised upon seeing that it was Kazu-senpai with Kana who even dropped her at her classroom. Well, of course that’s what the girls think, but the truth is, he was just walking with Kana going to his classroom who happen to stroll past 2-A.
“Kyaa!! Kazu-senpai!! Ohayou!” some of the girls screamed.
“What’s with her being so friendly with Kazu-senpai?!” others muttered in jealousy.
Saito on the other hand, just glimpse at them while turning his head looking back at the window.
“Yo! Eto, ja ne!” Kazu-senpai waded smiling.
A group of girls by the corner of the room can be heard speaking badly about Kana upon being with Kazu-senpai and they’ve got guts to even stare at her. Iinchou who noticed it, looked and then approached them.
“Do you mind keeping the unnecessary commentary to yourselves ladies?” she warned smiling.
“A..HAI!” they answered in unision and with nervousness.
“Iinchou wa yappa kowai yo ne? Onii mitai.” one of them mumbled, but unluckily for them, their president heard it.
“Dare ga onii desu ka?” she asked smiling, though this time with her eyes a bit opened.
‘Shimatta!’ the student thought. “Gomen nasai..eto..moshiake arimasen..” she apologized while even bowing her head.
*I’m sorry..umm..I am truly sorry, forgive me..
“Ii yo..but don’t dare try to do that again, understood?” she asked them, with her eyes back to normal.
“Hai!”
“Fufufu..” sarcastically laughed Rima facing the group who thinks badly of Kana. Her facial expression is clearly stating, ‘that’s what you get for bullying Kana-chan!’ and of course the girls were in raged but is afraid to do something as Rima is an Aikido specialist and Iinchou might approached them again.
A minute later, Haruna sensei arrived and everyone got back to their seats. Kana who is seating beside Saito is still feeling uneasy.
“Ohayou..okay, use this formula in answering the exercises in pages 217-219. f(2h) = (2h)2 + 3(2h) – 4 = 4h2 + 6h – 4” asked Haruna sensei right after greeting his students.
Everyone was dumbfounded to see Saito answered all the questions correctly.
“Sa suga Kanazawa-kun desu ne..” the students whispered in unison.
*As expected from Saito-kun
‘Sugoi..Saito-kun..sugoi..’ Kana thought in amazement.
*Saito’s amazing.
“Okay..that’s correct..Now, anyone here who got a perfect score aside from Saito?” again asked Haruna sensei, and of course no one except for Saito got a perfect score.
“I thought so. Study more okay? Now, since you’re all a bit drained you may answer the next 20 questions using the same formula.” He said sarcastically.
“EH?!” everyone complaint in unison.
Haruna sensei smiles, “Nante ne.. Go, eat, and have your empty brains be recharged, if ever you have any.” Again he said mocking his students.
“You mean will be having our break earlier??” gladly asked Rima.
“Well, you can have one-on-one lessons with me instead Sohma-san.”
“Zettai yada yo! I’d rather eat!!”
“You sure have some guts telling me that are you Sohma-san?” terrifyingly asked Haruna.
“Eto.. Yatta! Thanks for that sensei!!” thanked Rima who clearly ignore her teacher’s scary approach.
“Oh well..” Haruna thought leaving the classroom.
Everyone was again in hurry. But Saito left the room earlier than any of them.
“Rima shouldn’t we be hurrying? We might lose seats.” Kana invited.
“No, no. We still have 10 minutes to at least reach the canteen with extra seats for us.”
“A, sokka. Eto.. I’ll be going earlier; I have some errand to do. Will that be alright?” she asked.
“Errand huh? You really are helpful are you? Oh well, I’ll meet you at the canteen instead.” Agreed Rima.

Kana who went out earlier, tried following Saito hoping that he might be somehow connected to her childhood friend.
‘I don’t have any proof but I guess this is what they call a friend’s instinct.’ She thought while following Saito.
They walked and walked but Kana can’t seem to find the right timing to approach him. She just got all her guts to ask him when he, suddenly collapsed.
“Saito-kun!!” she screamed, panicked and decided to put all her strength to carry him to the clinic. Luckily, their adviser saw them and he then carried Saito.
“You’re pretty strong carrying him are you?”
“No, no I can’t carry him at all. Maybe it’s the adrenaline rush that helped me carry him a little farther from where he collapsed.” Explained Kana.
“Sokka. It seems that even that tough Saito is prone in collapsing.” He assumed sarcastically.
“Sensei!”
“Hai, hai. So, tell me, what exactly happened?” he asked curiously.
“Well, he’s simply walking when he suddenly passed out and I don’t know what to do.”
“Okay, guess we better hurry.”
Inside the clinic, Kana was waiting in the small lobby of their school clinic.
‘Daijobu kana Saito-kun..’ she worriedly thought.
*Is saito alright?
“A sensei, eto, Saito-kun wa daijobu desu ka?” she asked right after Haruna finished talking with the school doctor.
*Uhm.. Is Saito Okay?
“He’s in a 50-50 state.” He said gloomily.
“EH?!” she responded worriedly.
“Jodan da, aitsu wa daijobu. Shimpai suru na.”
*just kidding, he’s fine. No need to worry
“What’s with that sensei? But why did he collapse?”
“Lack of sleep according to the doctor.”
“Is that it?? Nothing serious is concerned?” she asked again still not contented with the lack of sleep idea.
“Yeah, why are you worrying too much? Now eat, that’s the best thing you can do right now.” Haruna explained.
“O-okay.”

Classes had ended and Kana remained at their room.
“You sure you’re okay here?” asked Rima.
“I’ll be fine. Go, you still have your club meeting.”
“Okay..Ja!”
After a few minutes Saito arrived fresh from the clinic.
“Eto, Saito-kun?” Kana said in a low voice as she approached Saito.
“Nani?”
“I just thought that since you were absent for almost half of the day, you might want to have a copy of the lectures. I was thinking of lending you mine.” She said shyly with her head looking down.
“No need. I can catch up with the lessons even without that. And besides, I didn’t ask for your notebook.” He said harshly.
Kana was hurt and didn’t know what to reply so she stayed silent and the guy, he got his things and left her behind.
She then left the school spacing out, depressed and speechless.
The next morning, at the assembly, “Hey, you okay? You seem like you didn’t get enough sleep? Are you feeling down or something?” her friend, Rima asked.
“No, I’m fine, don’t worry.” Assumed Kana.
“How can I-” Rima said when someone’s loud voice coming from the gym’s speakers stopped her.
“Ohayou minna! Continue your blabbing later. I’ll be saying some announcements.”
“What’s with him??” Rima whispered in an irritated voice.
“It’s too early but we decided to celebrate our Maora Festival and Senpai-Kouhai challenge game earlier than before as we wanted to make you’re first weeks in school unforgettable enough. Now, for those students who will not be seen participating, will surely get an equal punishment from our vice president. Fair enough? Oh and let me remind you that whoever wins in the Senpai-Kouhai game will be receiving free tickets going to Paris.”
“EH??!!” students all over the gym screamed as they were shocked and can’t barely believe in what they have heard.

Fuyuumi: Who just did the sudden announcements? And a ticket to Paris? That was..a good idea.. Well, try reading the next chapter and you’ll find out more about it. Though we will need a bit of you’re patience to wait for the next chapter. Hoping for you’re kind consideration. (smiles)
Inoue: Uhm, Sakamoto-san, I’ll be saying something again in relative with my appearance/looks again. Why do people always comment on my looks???? Can’t they just leave my appearance alone? I haven’t been on the first 2 chapters either so why do people keeps on pointing out my bad looks??? Oh please, I won’t mention names so please.. T.T

Chapter 1: Her childhood friend?

“A! kyo-kun?” Kana mumbled as a guy at the school grounds bumped her. It was obviously an accident; still the guy could’ve at least apologized. ‘Oh well it doesn’t matter’, she thought. The guy, it looks like someone familiar and she was certain about it. *oh, kyo-kun?

She was in a deep thought.

“Yo! Ohayou!” shouted an upperclassman cracking her thoughts as he passed the students smiling. She was already used to it, Kazuki senpai’s sudden greetings; it was something that earned him many friends and of course, admirers. ‘Well, who wouldn’t be? He was always so cheerful, a nice and laid back guy. Approximately half of the girls here or even more likes him.’

She continued to her classroom, she was included class 2-A.

“Ohayou..” shyly greeted Kana upon seeing her friend Rima. And Rima greeted her as well.

It was no longer than a minute when a guy sitting beside the window caught her attention. ‘Yappari ano otoko’tte Kyo-kun.’ She thought.

*that guy really was Kyo after all

“Nani? Nani? You like that guy??” pestered Rima noticing that her friend was in fact looking at the guy.

“Chigaimasu..tada..tada..ma iiyo..” denied Kana. Rima was about to tease her when their homeroom teacher came in and place the students in their designated seats. Saito, the name of the guy Kana noticed was still sitting by the window and Kana was placed beside him. She felt tensed.

*It’s not like that, it’s just..just..oh nevermind..

“Ohayou seito tachi! Ore wa Yagami Haruna, antatachi no sensei da.” Introduced their teacher. He was in his mid twenties, a man wearing coat and tie but looks like it doesn’t suit him as his facade was quite the tricky type.

*morning students! I’m Yagami Haruna, your homeroom teacher.

“Hmm.. I’ll just remind you of one thing. I don’t care whether you listen to my discussions or not, but the moment I call your name, be sure you know what to answer. If else..”

His students were all nervous except for Saito.

“Nothing! Just thought of making it sound you know, a bit intimidating..” joked Haruna sensei while making quite a face.

‘Mou..what’s with him? Anyway, that guy, I certainly thought it’s Kyo but I guess I was wrong. He’s name is Saito? Maybe I should try asking him if he’s first name is Kyousuke or maybe his second?’ 

It was already break time and students were rushing to the cafeteria fearing loss of seats. There was only Saito, the guy sitting by the window and Kana inside the classroom. A while ago, “Break time! Ne Kana I’ll be going first, okay? I don’t want to end up standing while eating you know, but don’t worry cause I’m saving a seat for you! Ja!”  hurried Rima.

‘So what do I do? Should I approach him? Nah that would just be troublesome, he seems like he’s not into socializing with other people type of guy. But trying won’t hurt right?’ She thought again..

And because she’s in the midst of thinking, she didn’t notice that Saito was out of the room already. She then turned around to talk with him.

“Ano..Sai..eh? He left already? Oh I’m hopeless.” She regretted. She was about to leave the classroom when suddenly their class representative approached her.

“Ootori-san?”

“A! Inchou-san! Eto..nan desu ka?” said the surprised Kana.

*oh iinchou..umm..what is it?

“Oh did I scare you? Gomen ne.. I was just wondering if you could bring this to the library, well, only if you’re free.” Asked their president smiling at her.

‘How could I say no? Iinchou hasn’t changed a bit, her smile is still suspicious. I wouldn’t try rejecting her favor, I’m afraid something bad might happen to me ’

“Ootori-san? Dame kana?” again asked their president.

“A iie, wakatta, I’ll bring them to the library this very moment.” Agreed kana without hesitation.

“Arigatou Ootori-san.” Thanked iinchou still smiling.

After doing what Iinchou asked her, Nami, another second year student approached her.

“Ne, Kore shitteru?” asked the student pointing to math problem in her notebook.

*hey, do you know this?

Kana was thinking on how to solve the problem but then again she wasn’t that good in math anyway so how could she possibly answer that. She was about to give up and make herself look dumb when something caught her eyes.

‘Kazu-senpai? What is he doing holding a white board? Wait. Is that a solution? Alright, maybe I should copy it. It’s better than nothing.’ And so Kana wrote the solution her senpai wrote.

“Woah, what a long solution! You’ve help me a lot in that Ootori-chan! As expected from someone in class A! Sankyu!” gratefully thanked Nami.

Meanwhile, Kazu who’s not far away smiled at her and gave her an ‘ok’ gesture.

‘Whew that was close.’ Kana sighed while Kazuki approached her.

“Eto, tasukatta desu yo senpai, arigatou.” Happily thanked Kana.

*Umm, you saved me in there senpai, thanks

“But, how did you know the answer when you didn’t even have the chance to see the question?” questioned Kana in amusement.

“Oh that? I just happen to pass the both of you looking seriously at the question and had a glimpse of it. And then when you look troubled I thought of giving you some help. Glad it was useful!” Kazu answered gladly.

“It was completely helpful! Thanks again!”

“Stop thanking me, it was no big deal. Anyway, it’s your break time too right? Should we head to the cafeteria together?” cheerfully asked Kazu. 

“Oh okay..” she agreed shyly.

While on their way to the cafeteria, Kana felt that all eyes were at her. Some because of jealousy being with Kazu-senpai, some were just plain looking at them while others are even looking with the intent of killing her.

‘This was not a good idea after all. I might end up dead somewhere in campus because of this.’ She nervously thought.

She was really uneasy, and Kazu noticed it.

“Daijobu? A! You hungry already? Don’t worry were almost there.” He assured.

‘This guy doesn’t have a clue on what’s happening at all. The girls were all looking, no, staring at us.’

They were at the cafeteria already but students all around were still looking at them. Rima on the other hand waved her hand while eating, signaling for their seat.

“A Rima. Guess that’s our table.” Kana said still nervous.

“Great. Hmm, can I seat with you two?”

She didn’t know what to answer when Rima suddenly approached them.

“Mochiron!” answered Rima without uncertainty.

*of course!

Now, they were all seated together, and, Rima & Kazu were both happily chatting with each other.

‘Guess that’s Rima for you, she was so friendly that she could chat with everyone normally.

“Gomen ne.” unexpectedly apologized Kazu while looking at Kana.

“Eh?” she said.

“I didn’t intend to make other girls, you know, jealous. Just want to try eating with you two. But I guess people were always jumping to conclusions, don’t worry I’ll tell them that nothing really is going on with us. Quite troublesome isn’t it? But we could be friends are we?” guaranteed and asked Kazu.

“A, hai!” she answered assured.

*um..yes..

“Yatta! Rima mo.” Added Kazu smiling. “A! shimatta! Our class has already started; I’ll be going, okay? Thanks for your uhmm..consideration or maybe appreciative approach I guess. Ja!” He wades smiling.

“Nice senpai isn’t he?” concluded Kana.

“Fufufu..you like him right?” teased her friend, Rima.

“Chigaimasu yo. I just had the impression of him that he’s quite the overconfident type before but I guess he’s completely opposite from what I had imagined.” She explained.

“So? Ja suki yo ne??” again pestered her friend.

*Really? So you like him are you?

“Dakara chigaumasu.” Denied Kana.

*I told you, it’s not like that..

“Hai, Hai..” said Rima obviously ignoring her explanations.

It was morning, okay and students were all over the campus, chatting, making noise and the same.

“Ohayou!!!” a loud greeting from someone surprised other students from class 2-A. They were rather surprised upon seeing who it was.

Inoue: who could possibly it?? Well, you’ll find that out in the upcoming chapter of..UMI!! Yomu ni arigatou! (Thanks for reading)

Kazu: chotto ‘tousan.

Inoue: nandai?

Kazu: Dainieru wants me to give a little thanks to someone.

Inoue: Eh? Ii yo wakatta..

Kazu: yosh! (Coughs) for emshi (MC), our art directors who came up with our funky designs, wait, and are that funky?? Oh well, guess I’m good looking in there, so thanks for that Maria-san! Or should I just call you emshi after all? Or maybe Eagle? Anyway, thanks again!

Inoue: any name will do Kazu. The thing is, eto..Maria-san can you explain my appearance?? Seems like people were making fun of my looks, what’s so wrong with being a sushi vendor??? T.T  Oh and I don’t have any partner in the story so please tell a certain someone not to make fun of me having a partner such as the lettering!! Mattaku!

UMI chapter 1....I mean character introduction..XD

Umi

Characters:

(Just introducing them in here)

Ichinomiya Kazuki – he is a happy-go-lucky 2nd year student who loves greeting everyone around him. Maybe it’s his friendly habit. He is better known as Kazu or Kazu-senpai in Maora Gakuen.

Kanazawa Saito – the silent & cold wuss. ^^,v  He doesn’t like socializing and is by himself most of the time. His hang out place is Maora Gakuen’s rooftop.

Ootori Kana – an average-but-quite-the-shy type kind of girl.  She is classmates with Saito and has mistaken him as her childhood friend, Kyousuke. Her bestfriend is Rima and is good friends with Kazuki.

Ichinomiya Inoue – he is Kazuki’s jolly father, owner of a sushi shop.

Sakamoto Fuyumi – class 2-A’s president (Iinchou) she’s always smiling (eyes closed) in a way that it’s very rare for other students to even see her eyes. Though the moment she opens it, be sure you behave or else.

Sohma Rima – Kana’s best friend and her very own supporter. She has a very good disposition in life, always cheerful and optimistic. She is part of the Aikido club together with Kazu.

Yagari Haruna – class 2-A’s homeroom teacher. The sly-but-have-a-habit-of-grinning type of guy. He likes teasing his students and making them wonder what his real intentions were.

Yoshinura Shiraishi – Kazuki’s best friend, a rich guy whose family owns the school itself. He is a very blunt person, he will honestly tell you what he feels, whether or not he’s gonna hurt you. He disregards a person’s feelings.

I've been busy with my story and I just thought of posting it here, not to brag it off (since it's not that good too) but to accept criticism from you guys..feel free to comment about it..by the way, it's title is Umi.. yeah umi as in sea.. ^^,

Oh and it's not a fanfiction either, just that it's characters were anime like..thanks to my co-author/art director eagle-san who came up with the character designs..when I got the chance I'll post here a picture of her drawings..again, I will appreciate if you'll comment about it.. "Do a good deed each day!" - Kuronuma Sawako

~ just wanted to recommend it to everybody, you'll surely love it. It's simplicity have captured my heart and hope will yours as well!! ^^,

-- Sawako-chan's nice deeds and courage to speak up have surely helped her clear unnecessary misunderstandings.Her innocent attitude is what makes her 100% cute. Way to go Sada--i mean Sawako-chan!!

-- Kazehaya's refreshingly nice attitude have surely captured my heart. He's smile is way too cuuuute!!!! He's utterly nice, cheerful, but like any other guys, he too falls in love, blushes, and gets nervous whenever his special someone is just around the corner..KAWAII!!! (I'll be searching earth in order to find a guy like him!! sounds crazy, but yeah I'll try doing it..XD) Even his selfishness is cute in many ways..haha..

-- Yano-chin's (as Yoshida calls her) protective attitude is what you'll surely love about her. She was what you'll call a 'friend loving person' XD, as shown by the way she accepted and loved Sawako for who she was. She was always ready to fight for Sawako's sake. And she was the mature one in the group, helping Sawako realize her feelings for Kazehaya. I really like her!!

-- Yoshida on the other hand, was someone slower, I really mean it, slower than Yano-chin when it comes to thinking XD. Her kind of a dense and idiotic attitude is well seen throughout the anime, but that's one good thing about her. She was also a gangster like person but a very caring and loving friend, who is willing to be by Sawako's side no matter what (even if she doesn't have the idea of what's going on XD). I like her too!!

-- Ryu's silent dimeanor is what makes him look cool and also what makes him perfect for Chizuru (Yoshida). They were childhood friends and have this brotherly relationship as stated by Yoshida. Ryu being silent and all while Chizuru being loud and noisy (in a good way), they're perfect, nice combi!! (well, he does love Chizuru after all, so its decided!! XD) I like Ryu's attitude too, being a man of few words..

-- even the antagonist, Kurumi was kinda likeable too..well after all, she's way too cute..but i still like Sawako more XD..i guess they agree in one thing though, their love for Kazehaya..^^

THUMBS UP FOR THIS ANIME!!! Must watch!!
